The Lodge Opening
Known for many years as The Brahma Lodge, the Hotel has reopened after an extensive refurbishment during the past 4 months under a new name ‘The Lodge’ and with a completely new look. The existing building had a strong linear architectural language that reminded us of buildings commonly seen on America’s West Coast – in particular California and Las Vegas Nevada. Taking cues from this, an ornate breezway block was introduced externally to create entry walls and enclosure for the new outdoor spaces. Inside one large central bar greets customers upon arrival and creating separation and helping to break down the large space into smaller intimate areas. Bold patterned carpets contrast with the timber detailing of the bar, furniture and cosy retro booth seats. Let’s not forget the 2 story billboard at the entry that really takes you back to the sixties…just need an open top mustang and scene is set!
Congratulations to Greg, Rob and all the team for an amazing outcome. We’ve completed four projects in the past year (!!!) and for us, the success is all in the process – this is just another example of what wonderful people you are to work with. And congratulations also for your latest award at the AHA. After winning at a state level, Republic Norwood was entered into the AHA National Awards for Excellence, and we were thrilled to be informed that it won “Best Outdoor or Non-Enclosed Facility” at the national level.
