The refurbishment of the Oriental Hotel in Norwood South Australia is progressing full steam ahead. The concept for the Oriental, soon to be named the ‘Republic Hotel’, is to create a modern beer drinking hall atmosphere, stripping back the establishment’s existing interior linings and establishing a design which respects the original bones of the building. A palette of solid dressed timber, traditional red brick and brown cobble stones are to be installed to complement both the existing building structure and new interior design which aims to offer strength, warmth and a link between old and new. We are looking forward to ‘The Republic’ progressing quickly as our client plans to open before Christmas – just in time for our office Christmas party!
