This is a house we designed and documented for a family of 4, built last year on a small lot site in Paddington.

The steep gradient of the site dictated a split level house that steps its way down to the street and thereby provides a required level of seperation beween the parents zone and their young adult children. Outdoor areas were similarly terraced into the landscape to create a high level of privacy to the common areas and minimal division between inside and out, something not always easy to achieve on steep sites. The resultant home is quite typical in scale for a family of this size yet appears compact and restrained from the street.
