AIA National Conference “Material”
Last week, Kon, Nat and Tom attended the Australian Institute of Architects National Conference. This year the conference titled “Material” was located in Melbourne with the theme being contemporary applications and ideas surrounding material in architecture. Over two days and eight sessions, the conference provided us with an insight into experimentation with and new research methodology surrounding various construction materials and also our yearly dose of architectural theory, innovation and inspiration. Lauren joined us on the Saturday to attend Designex, Australia’s largest exhibition of architectural and design products and materials.
And of course, whilst in Melbourne we also took the opportunity to visit some new and well known hospitality venues that have popped up since we were last there. This time round we visited the likes of [The National] [Chingon] [The Bridge] [Baby] [The Royal Saxon] [The Boat Builders Yard] [St Katherines] [Naked for Satan] [Little Creatures Dining Hall] [The Auction Rooms]. Phew!
