A Long Time in the Making
As many of you would be aware, KP Architects has moved office many times in its 18 year existence. We have now been in our current office for 7 years which is by far the longest period of any of our tenancies. Kon has always said that he had one more move in him, but it’d only be into his own building. Well, Kon and Nat have (finally) just purchased a property for the new home of KP Architects in Doggett St in Teneriffe/Newstead. It’s essentially a rundown and ruined queenslander that has already been converted into an office many years ago. The plan is to eventually develop the site with a new studio building at the front and townhome out back. But before this dream is realised, reality (timing and currnet leasing arrangements) dictate that KPA will move into what is existing for the next few years. We are actually really looking forward to testing what we can do with the existing space and to having a place to make our own, literally, as we are planning on getting our hands dirty and doing some fitout works ourselves. This is definately a case of watch this space!
