A Tree for The Norman
The works to refurbish the Beer Garden at The Norman Hotel are well underway. The existing space was quite harsh and exposed with its hard surfacing and sea of tables. We have been working on a design that softens the space and seperates the main beer garden into more intimate zones. We’ve also sourced some interesting objects (from Grand Ideas in Northgate) to layer into the space but the real hero here is the fig tree (from Evergreen Plant Solutions) that was craned into position whilst we were on site yesterday. It really makes an instantaneous difference to the space as a whole and it’s starting to feel less like a concrete concourse and more like your own backyard, which of course is the perfect environment for enjoying a steak straight off the grill (exactly what the Norman is famous for). The renovation is due to be completed mid November in time for the Ashes Test at the Gabba.
