Works to HQ Café at Kedron Wavell Services Club are well underway with the covered courtyard almost complete. The refurbishment is expected to increase dining capacity by 80% with a large amount of the refurbishment works occurring outside the existing building footprint.

The new concrete slab has been laid, the concrete portal has been formed, the new roof over the covered courtyard has been installed and the ceilings lined; establishing the foundations of the extended internal spaces and new covered courtyard. The feature screen which acts as a beacon, guiding patrons to the main entry from the car park has also been completed and lighting installed. Contractors are laying travertine tiles which will enrich the European alfresco dining concept.

Demolition works included the removal of the existing glazing suite and terrace timber deck.  Existing paving were also removed where necessary, with the majority of works being built over the existing floor finishes to enable current storm water solutions to be maintained.
